We are currently looking for an exceptional School Librarian from September 2022.

H-FARM is an IB School, and at IB World Schools across the globe, librarians provide educational and pedagogical leadership, and are often involved in varied collaborative investigations with teachers and students, as well as developing and managing the library itself.


Librarian day-to-day responsibilities

  • Library surveillance.

  • Helping students and costumers locate books.

  • Helping students and costumers find material online.

  • Checking books in and out at the front desk.

  • Sorting and shelving books according to their categorisation.

  • Register new customers and maintain and update customer profiles.

  • Maintaining records of books taken out and books brought back.

  • Managing inquiries over the counter and via email or telephone.

  • Take care of library events, assisting H-FARM staff during events.

  • Settling any disruptions or disturbances in the library.

  • Availability for workshops for teachers and students.



  • Degree in Library Sciences.

  • Right to work in Italy (EU passport or valid Italian work VISA).

  • Immaculate police check(s).

  • Fluent C2 level English: reading, speaking, writing (Common European Framework of Reference - CEFR).



  • Some experience in a customer service role.

  • Basic computer literacy (use of clavis software is preferred).

  • Attention to detail and good problem-solving ability.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Deep knowledge of Britannica, EBSCO, JSTOR and MLA referencing.

  • Experience with or knowledge of IB schools (especially Diploma Programme).

  • Experience in dealing with children and young adults.

  • Knowledge of children's literature.
